Kakadu NP and Litchfield NP (3 days)

*** Dry Season Itinerary: June - November ***

Day 1: Darwin > Litchfield NP > Mary River

• Your driver will pick you up from your hotel / hostel in Darwin around 6:30am
• Your first stop today will be at the spectacular waterfalls of Litchfield National Park (more beautiful even then those in the Kakadu NP!)
• Travel to the Mary River Wetlands and embark on a private river cruise, watch out for birds and crocodiles along the river banks
• stay overnight at the campsite at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge, close to the Kakadu NP, but far from the tourist masses

Day 2: Mary River > Kakadu NP

• From your campsite it is only a short ride to the Kakadu NP.
• See ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr and enjoy the views on the Nardab floodplain from the Ubirr lookout.
• Hike to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) and enjoy a swim in the plunge pools
• stay overnight at a permanent camp within Kakadu NP (no need to set up tents!!!)

Day 3: Kakadu NP > Jim Jim Falls > Darwin

• 4WD tour to Jim Jim Falls. See Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls (boat and boardwalk)
• back to Darwin in the afternoon

*** Wet Season Itinerary: December - May ***

Day 1: Darwin > Litchfield NP > Mary River

• see above

Day 2: Mary River > Kakadu NP (Jabiru Area)

• From your campsite it is only a short ride to the Kakadu NP.
• Depending on the weather / road conditions, you will visit the Mamukala Wetlands and the aboriginal rock art sites at Ubirr
• Bowali Visitor Centre is also worth a visit, with its exhibits on life in the Kakadu wetlands and its cool cinema
• Walk to Gubara Springs, which is accessible for 4WDs only
• stay overnight at a permanent camp within Kakadu NP (no need to set up tents!!!)

Day 3: Kakadu NP (Southern Region) > Darwin

• Visit the Cathedral Termite Mounds
• Waterfalls are always a spectacular sight during the wet season: check out Boulder Creek Falls and hike to Motor Car Falls
• back to Darwin in the afternoon

Your Camping Safari includes:

• Experienced guide
• Small group: max. 16 guests
• 4 Wheel Drive Truck, air-conditioned, front facing seats
• permanent camp sites, twin share tents
• 2 meals on day 1 and 3, 3 meals on day 2

Upgrade to Deluxe Tents available

Passengers can upgrade to deluxe safari tents (proper beds with linen, lighting and fans) for $100 per person twin share.
